Liz and Jr.

Liz and Jr. met 8 years ago when he walked into her parents church and it was love at first sight for Liz. Not so much for Jr, he needed a bit of persuasion from Liz and he received it. Liz knew for sure that they would someday get married and in 2011 he proposed. A month after their beautiful son Rylee was born, they had a small wedding ceremony to celebrate their future lives together as husband and wife, and now parents. This upcoming May, they are excited to have a bigger, more formal celebration with friends and family.

Disneyland Engagement

When we met to discuss plans for their session, I asked them if there was anything they did together as a family or any place special to them, and without hesitation, they immediately thought of Disneyland. And truly, what better venue… it being the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’! As you can imagine the session was fun and carefree, combined with beautiful architecture and energetic characters roaming the streets. This location allowed the couple to be free, to let go, and to simply be themselves; they could forget all else and let their inner child be present which made it easy for me as a photographer to capture them with authenticity. To be honest, the session felt more like I was having fun with friends rather than me doing my job.

While Liz and Jr. knew this was supposed to be focused on them, it went without saying that they had to include the newest addition to the family, little Rylee. No better way to see the purity of Disneyland than through the eyes of a child. As you will see below, Liz in particular could not contain her excitement when one of her favorite characters; Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas walked right by them.
