“When I think of Valentine’s Day, I think of grade school heart candies, bubble gum pink and lipstick red. But for this Valentine’s Day Bridal Inspiration shoot, we felt inspired by ALL the pinks – from the lightest of blushes to the brightest corals, we did not discriminate. And when you engage all the pinks, a sort of bubbly decadence emerges. With Claire La Faye’s Before Sunset gown and its dip dyed ombré blush train and sexy draping silk off-the-shoulder sleeves, paired with Emmy London’s delicate but stunning silver Teardrop belt, we started with a look that was oh-so-romantic. Then we added a bouquet full of an abundance of pinks, with the papery petals of the poppies to the ruffled layers of the ranunculus. And we tied it all together with a dessert spread that would make any lady swoon.

From a styling perspective, we stretched beyond the Rapunzel locks of tradition, and worked with a more modern bride with a short haircut. When it comes to styling short hair for a wedding, many ladies are at a loss. But Jenni of The Blushing Bird has all the answers. For this look, Jenni explains, “I used the Debbie Carlisle mirrored-pair Nora combs, because they provide such a bold, romantic touch to an edgy short ‘do. The Swarovski navette crystals and tiny ivory freshwater pearls are hand-crafted to a lovely and slightly wild floral shape, adding an organic elegance that perfectly frames the face.” Because fairytales are for today’s romance, not just the renaissance.

“And let’s be real, Valentine’s Day is the get-spoiled holiday after all,” Jenni proclaimed. So we added cookies and diamond earrings, all framed beautifully by an eclectic set of vintage plates from Fern & Bone.”  More yummy treats and the not-to-be-forgotten bubbles in pink goblets rounded out our goodies, making this a Valentine’s Day celebration fit for a queen.
